Dyrholaey
Die Gegend um die Stadt Vik und die Insel Dyrholaey ist wegen der vielen Papageientaucher
bekannt. Island hat nicht viele Vogelarten vorzuweisen, deswegen
widmet man den nicht gerade schönen (ich bitte um Verzeihung)
Papageientauchern viel Aufmerksamkeit.
Hier am Ufer soll auch "der schönste nicht-tropische Strand" sein.
Den Namen verdankt er den spektakulären Basaltgewölben.

Dyrholaey
The area around the town of Vik and the island Dyroholaey is the
home of the well-known Puffin. Iceland doesn't have too many birds,
which is one of the reasons why there is such a fuss made about
the not too pretty (sorry) Puffin. This area also boasts the world's prettiest
non-tropical beach. This it owes to the spectacular basalt dome and columns.
